GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Regional Exceptional Children’s Program Coordinator is responsible for identifying, developing, and coordinating resources across each campus in the region to meet the needs of students who qualify for special education. The Regional Program Coordinator is responsible for working with regional campus EC personnel to provide appropriate programs for all special education students on the campus. The regional program coordinator is also responsible for leading assigned special education programs for staff and for program development.

SPECIAL EDUCATION

 

PROGRAM EVALUATION

Complete an evaluation to assess the needs of TMSA schools; review annual reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the special education programs; develop, analyze, and distribute the results of annual evaluations to the school’s leadership team and the Executive Director. Maintain excellent records of all special education-related performance data, reports, and evaluations.

 

COMPLIANCE

Maintain excellent records of all student programs and activities, reports, surveys, evaluations, funding, annual program evaluations, and communications; ensure TMSA schools and the district’s Special Education program remain in compliance with all state and federal guidelines; stay informed of the most current special education requirements and guidance

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Take part in professional learning opportunities at the local, regional, and/or state level with proper authorization; attend all local meetings and training related to Special Education; and share ideas and experiences with school or district staff, the leadership team, and/or other Special Education professionals
