GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Deputy Superintendent of Operations is an experienced manager and leader accountable for the TMSA Public Charter Schools’ developing strategy and business plan, for the delivery of high performing operational services, and for capacity building required to support TMSA Public Charter Schools’ current scale and future expansion, and for the financial sustainability and public compliance of the organization. The Deputy Superintendent oversees the growth strategy for TMSA Public Charter Schools and leads work to define and deliver on services the central office provides to TMSA schools. The Deputy Superintendent will define school-based operational excellence for TMSA Public Charter Schools and will manage others to ensure the schools achieve such excellence. The Deputy Superintendent serves as a thought partner to the Deputy Superintendent, sits on the TMSA Executive Leadership Team, manages a team of operations professionals, and works closely with the board, and school leaders to ensure TMSA’s success, impact, sustainability, and growth.

FACILITIES & REAL ESTATE

Manage TMSA Public Charter Schools’ real estate portfolio, ensuring facility solutions and plans are in place to achieve growth while integrating mission, finance, development, and facility perspectives. 

 

TRANSPORTATION AND FOOD SERVICES  

Ensure school-based staffing, systems, and vendors are in place for transportation and food programs with timely, reliable, safe, on-budget, and fully compliant delivery of services. 

 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

PROGRAM EVALUATION

Complete an evaluation to assess the operational needs of TMSA Public Charter Schools; review annual reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the operational services;  develop, analyze, and distribute the results of annual evaluations to the school’s leadership team and the Superintendent

 

COMPLIANCE

Maintain excellent records of all operational services and activities, reports, surveys evaluations, funding, annual program evaluations, and communications; ensure TMSA schools and district’s operations remain in compliance with all state and federal guidelines; stay informed of the most current operational requirements.

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Take part in professional learning opportunities at the local, regional, and/or state level with proper authorization; attend all local meetings and training related to School Operations; share ideas and experiences with school or district staff, leadership team, and/or other operational services professionals
