Primary Role:
To help all students develop skills in the areas of personal-social growth, educational planning, and career/vocational development
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Current North Carolina license, in related field
- Previous experience is preferred
Skills:
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate the effectiveness of student programs
- Highly organized and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task giving priority to the most important duties
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Friendly and able to interact professionally and positively with staff, students, parents, and community members
- Computer skills should include, at a minimum, keyboarding, email, databases, Word, and Excel
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow all Board policies
- Maintain confidentiality of all student, parent, and staff information
- Since we no longer have a curriculum and instruction coordinator, we would benefit from having our own school support to work closely with staff to assist teachers with more personalized Professional Development goals, assisting with STEM goals, providing quick feedback from classroom walk-throughs, and overall helping our teachers grow professionally and improving instructional practices.
- This person would also sit on committees such as SIP, SST, MTSS, Testing, etc. to help make school wide improvements and to help increase our growth scores.
- This person would work closely with our Testing Coordinator to analyze all data and train our staff to effectively use MAP data, NC Check-in data, and how to then implement the data within their daily classroom lesson plans.
- This person would also help to assure that students needing extra tutoring would get this either through Tiger TAILS remediation classes, Saturday School, and/or teacher after-school tutoring. They would monitor student growth to help determine their specific needs, which program would help them most, and monitor their growth through data collection.
- This person would work with the EC dept. and follow-up that ALL teachers are complying with accommodations/interventions as is required by law.
- We see a need to provide more support to our BT’s. Ms. Lanham will continue to act as the BT coordinator and will oversee the program and will focus more on providing support for the mentors (an area of weakness identified on our BT audit) and this person will focus on supporting the BT’s on a more regular basis and meet their individual needs.
